Cherie Gruenfeld - Lake Arrowhead, CA Cherie is a world-class athlete and volunteer. Cherie, the 2000 "Ironman Age grouper of the Year", holds the Ironman World, European and American age-group course records. She is the only woman over 55 to complete an Ironman in less than twelve hours. Cherie's love of athletics and passion for helping children have led her to start a program for at-risk inner-city children in her area called Cypress Exceeding Expectations. Cherie raises money for bikes, shoes, helmets and entry fees and trains kids to compete in triathlons. Cherie is an everyday champion who is making a profound difference in the lives of others.
